Welcome to my blog! I’m a soil scientist and microbial ecologist living in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Currently, I spend my time learning French and answering questions about soil health, gardening, and lawncare for my remote job with AgriTech Corp. (Learn more about my background here, or check out some of my posts for the SoilKit blog here!) I grew up on Long Island, NY, and I still miss the pizza and bagels dearly. If I’m not nerding out about soil microbes or sustainable agriculture, I’m probably playing board games with my family, reading in a coffee shop, or listening to a good podcast.
I started this blog in 2016 to share stories, thoughts, and pictures from my adventures around the globe with friends and family (my very first post explains my motivations a bit more). Along the way, I’ve realized that forming an individual sense of identity goes hand-in-hand with caring human relationships, processing personal/generational/ancestral histories, and realizing we’re members of Earth’s ecosystem alongside many other living and non-living beings. In a variety of ways, the posts on this blog share my learnings on this journey through Creation towards the Creator.
